Hoobie's Ochies

This morning Parkar had to have his Adenoids taken out. He had ear tubes put in in August and has complications and infections one after another since - so the Dr. finally decided to take the adenoids out. It was supposed to be a quick simple procedure but ended up a little rough!
Before Surgery - His ball kept him happy for a little bit!!!

He grabbed his coat and was trying to put it on!

We told him we couldn't go bye bye and.......

The happy medicine kicking in!!!

The surgery was supposed to be about 20 minutes and ended up taken about 50. The doctor came out and said everything went fine he just didn't want to wake up very easy. After about an hour and 15 minutes they finally came and got Cam and I to see him. His eyes and lips were very swollen and he was very upset and disoriented (from the anaesthesia) and definitely wanted his bottle!! He was breathing really heavy and making a very loud almost snorting noise when he would breathe. The Dr. came in again and asked us if snores like that usually and we said no so he told us this: When they do this surgery they stick a tube up their nose which comes out their mouths and when they stuck the tube up Hoobies nose his nose was very little or almost like underdeveloped as he said so they had to really work to get the tube up his nose which caused some bleeding. An hour or so later his Sat's continued to drop as he wasn't getting enough air which required him to have oxygen and he was gurgling and snorting very loudly. The doctor along with the anesthesiologist came in and said that when they went to put the breathing tube in his throat during surgery that his airway was extremely small for his age. They said it should be the size of his pinkie finger and was about half the size - again underdeveloped for his age. They also told us that when they went to take the tube out of his throat he was making a wheezing noise - which meant he was having a hard time getting air. They called it laryngeal something which means the flaps in the esophagus were flapping up against the airway because they were to small causing him to have a difficult time breathing. Parkar didn't want to swallow either - I'm sure his throat was sore from the tube which was causing more problems as the saliva was building up and causing him to choke on it. After about an hour and a half he finally fell asleep in Cam's arms while he was bent down and slept for about an hour. After he woke up his face looked much better and his breathing sounded a lot better. Before they let us take him home he had to have a breathing treatment to help open up his airway better. He was still extremely restless and uncomfortable but we were able to leave and come home at 12:30 (it was a VERY long morning). My mom was here with Teylor. Parkar went right to her and she rocked him for about an hour and half while he slept. When he woke up about 2:30 he was in a much better mood and was very excited to see his brother!! We just have to watch his breathing and pray he does fine.

I had to share this photo - to bad it didn't have sound!!
Cameron had been stuck in this position for about 15 minutes and said he could no longer feel his legs. The nurse stepped out for a minute and he farted stinking up the enclosed room we were in - I'm sure the nurse was impressed!!! It's a joke to us because the last time he did the exact same thing was when we were in the hospital when i had Parkar he thought he had to fart but pooped his pants instead - literally - o.k. it was a shart!!! I know that has nothing to do with this but I thought i would throw it because it reminded us of that and was so dang funny!!

Gram rocking Hoobie at home

He is doing much better now - he made us a little nervous earlier but hopefully he is on the down hill slope from here on out.
