Christmas

It is always so busy after Parkar's birthday - having Thanksgiving, both the boy's birthday parties, setting up all the Christmas stuff, finishing our shopping, baking, and all the fun holiday activities it seems like it is here and gone before we get to relax and enjoy it!! We usually set up all our Christmas decorations and lights the day after Thanksgiving and then celebrate Teylor's birthday the following Saturday. Since we went to Denver over Thanksgiving we didn't get back until Monday night and then had things going on that week. We celebrated Teylor's birthday on the 5th and we were going to put all our things up the next day after church and then right before church Cameron got a phone call from his brother saying that his nephew was lost in the Big Horn mountains. So to make a long story short Cam left and didn't get home until 3am on Monday and thank goodness they found them all and they were fine! But ... Since we always set the stuff up as a family and they are high on the shelves in the garage we had to wait until Saturday December 12th! We finally got our stuff up and had a great time doing it!

We always let the boys take turns putting the star on top
of the tree - Cameron tried to let them do it at the same time
this year but it didn't work out so well - Parkar couldn't quite
reach it all the way!

The week before Christmas we had a Christmas party at our church. Santa came and handed out gift bags to all the kids. I was really surprised that Parkar wasn't afraid of him. He just sat on his lap checking him out - he knew he would candy after (he will do ANYTHING for candy) so he did good. Teylor went first and was a little bashful but did fine.

On Christmas Eve we baked cookies for Santa and decorated them. The boys thought it was neat that they were able to make Santa some cookies - they thought he would love them for sure!
Cameron rolled out the dough and then the boys
pushed their cutouts into it.

Christmas Morning - Santa came!!
I love Christmas morning! I love to watch the boys run down the hall with excitement to see what Santa brought for them - it is so great!
One of the things Teylor asked Santa for was new basketball shoes - Santa brought them and a pair for brother.

Here are a few of our pictures from Christmas morning at our house.

After we opened up all our presents we got ready and headed out to my parents house. We go there every year and have a great time. We opened gifts, ate lunch, and spent all afternoon and part of the evening playing games. It was so much fun we all had a great time.

Update before Christmas Post!

Well it's been a while since I've got around to blogging!! A lot has happened in the Gulley household and we have been very busy with celebrating both the boys' birthdays, a trip back to Denver, and getting ready for Christmas!!
Parkar turned 2 on November 12th - that night we took him to get brownies and ice cream - he loved it! The next day (Friday) we celebrated his birthday with an "Elmo party" as he called it. He loves Elmo and refers to everything he sees that has Elmo on it as "Elmo party" now. We had family over for dinner, cake and ice cream. Parkar loved opening his presents and we were a little surprised at how well he did opening them - he did have a little help from brother though. He got a lot toys and books (which he loves) and had a lot of fun playing with all his stuff. We had a great night.

The next week Teylor's pre-school class took a field trip to the Fire Station. They were able to walk through all the fire trucks and watch a fireman dress up in his gear. Teylor's favorite thing of the trip was that he was able to go on and stand on the same Fire truck that Austin and Dalton got to when they won the state Tennis, Basketball, and Baseball and drove around the town. He thought that he was pretty cool - "just like they are!" We had a great time and it was a lot of fun.

On Thanksgiving we traveled to Cheyenne to Cameron's sister Deidi's house. We had Thanksgiving dinner with them and visited that night. On Friday we went out to lunch with them and then went bowling - and had a lot of fun. After bowling we went out to dinner and then back to their house to lounge for the evening. On Saturday morning we headed to Denver - we were going to have lunch with Cameron's Grandma but she got sick so we ended up meeting Cam's brother Ryan and his family for lunch. We all went shopping for a while after that and then headed back to Ryan's house. We were with them until Monday morning and left to go to Parkar's doctors appointment. His appointment went really well and his ears and everything looked great. Dr. Allen said we didn't need to come back until next November to get them looked at again. He talked about the possibility of Parkar needing to have his tonsils out in the future - but we just need to keep an eye on him and go from there. We had a fun trip to Denver again and had a great time spending our time with family!

The lady at the check in counter said Parkar had to wear a mask because he had a runny nose and was coughing - he would not wear it period. Then I asked her if I could get one for Teylor to wear so Parkar would wear his - and it worked!!

Two days after we got home Teylor turned 5 - I can't believe it. It is actually really sad. That same week I had to take him to his 5 year check up and to get his Kindergarten shots:((. He is so excited to be 5 and getting ready to go to school. The night before his birthday we made Transformer cupcakes to take to Pre-school. After school on his birthday Gram took him out to lunch to his favorite place- Taco Johns! After dinner we took him out for ice cream and he chose to go to Dairy Queen. We celebrated his birthday Transformer style on Saturday the 5th. He had several friends and family over for his birthday. He received WAY to many toys that I don't know where to put everything.

Teylor's Great-Grandma Gulley sent him $5 dollars- he was
so excited and couldn't wait to spend it!
