What is with the Weather???

We got the wonderful pleasure of experiencing a blizzard yesterday! Cameron and I both thought the weatherman was going to be exaggerating a little bit - but we got proven wrong. I think Gillette received around a foot of snow and then with the winds some places got drifts as high as their house - it was unreal. We enjoyed our day lounging around the house and we were able to finish some projects that needed to get done. Our power went out around 7am and was only out for about an hour - thank goodness, that would have been a LONG day. My parents power was out until around 2pm so we were lucky to get ours back on. We all were up around 7 (unusual) because Cameron's employees kept calling to see if they needed to go to work or not. Cameron cooked a good breakfast and then Teylor and I went out side and played in the snow for a little bit. I finished painting two walls in our living room and Cameron built a bench that I wanted for inside our front door. He just has to finish putting wood filler in and then I have to paint it - it turned out really nice!! We enjoyed being able to stay home for two days!!

We ate lunch and experienced something Cameron and I are almost positive we will never witness again and couldn't hardly believe we saw it yesterday - Hoobie fell asleep in his high chair for the first time ever! Cameron and I were talking the other day about him because he ALWAYS has a baggie of snacks, crackers, or some type of food with him at ALL times - so it is very unusual for him to fall asleep while eating - we thought it was great!

He also discovered last week where daddy keeps his candy! He figured out how to open the cupboard, back his butt into the cupboard, and open the box to get the suckers out! He probably got about 15 suckers out of there yesterday - he would get two or three at a time. He was one sticky little stinker by the end of the day.

Today we woke up the it wasn't snowing anymore. We had huge snow drifts all around our house. The boys and I went out this morning and played in the snow again. Teylor thought it was pretty cool that he could climb on top of my car without help. Later this afternoon Cameron and I started shoveling out our driveway - what a chore!! A front end loader came earlier today and made one strip down the whole road which left a 3 foot embankment we would of had to shovel out before we could of even got out of our driveway. Our neighbors have a friend that has some type of machine that helped plow out our entry way to the street. Cameron was very thankful for the guy to plow it for us.

Teylor had his first soccer practice last Wednesday. He was pretty shy at first and got upset but after a while he started to warm up and play a little. He always gets so bashful in groups like that but hopefully he will do good. He was supposed to have practice last night but couldn't so he won't have practice again until next week!

Getcha Head in the Game!

Yesterday we took the boys to Rapid City to do a little shopping and take them to High School Musical the Ice Tour. We didn't tell Teylor that we were going to the show until we got there. It has been on advertised on t.v. and he has been asking us if we could go but we kept telling him that we couldn't (i know that's a little mean). I had packed all his "gear" and he kept asking why I was bringing it but he never caught on. We did our shopping and went to the civic center, got him changed into his warm ups, and walked in and he still didn't know what we were doing. Finally he seen the High School Musical logo and jumped up spinned around and said "were here - do we really get to see this" and started wanting to go to all the booths set up. He was so excited he could hardly keep still.

"Troy" getting his picture taken with the
other Troy and Gabriella. He fits right in!!

Teylor loved being able to get his picture taken with the "real" Troy. We got a few things and went into the ice arena to get ready for the show.

This was Teylor's favorite part in the show and the movie -
this song "Getcha Head in the Game" he sings all the time
and plays to "warm up" when he is playing basketball.

The basketballs fell from the ceiling just like in the movie.

High School Musical 2

Hoobie aka "Ryan"

We all had a great time and a lot of fun. Cameron and I were surprised at the show because we thought they were just going to sing and skate around. They actually replayed the big scenes in both High School Musical and High School Musical 2 - which a few of those are Teylor's favorite part of the movies. Teylor excuse me I mean "Troy" absolutely loved it - he thought it was the coolest thing ever to be able to see TROY.

Watch Out Teylor's Driving

We had beautiful weather last week (except Friday) - it was sunny with temperatures in the 60's!! The boys were able to play outside for the first time this year and they both loved it. Teylor finally was able to "drive" is car and take Parkar with him. It is only the second time his has driven it since Christmas. Parkar loved riding around in the car and enjoyed pushing all the buttons. Teylor thought he was VERY important being able to drive his little brother around!

Teylor was even lucky enough to find a cricket!! He got a bug magnifier and couldn't wait to catch a bug. I was surprised we seen a cricket but he caught it and kept for a day and a half. He named him "grassy" and carried the jar every where he went for the day!

We had a great week being outside in the nice weather and can't wait until it stays nice for a while. I took the boys swimming on Friday with a couple girls from church and their kids. We all had a great time and Parkar loves just floating in his life jacket being pulled around the pool. Teylor is just starting to venture off by himself but still likes to stay close which is good. After swimming our families all went to Summer and Rich's house. We had pizza and played domino's for the first time ever (it was really fun). We had a great time and the kids enjoyed playing together.

I had to put these pics in - Teylor's favorite color is red. Last summer I originally was going to get both the boys red swim trunks but they did not have Teylor's size in red so i just got him blue. So today Teylor put his swim trunks on and noticed Parkar's were red. He was a little irritated and wanted to wear Hoobies. I tried to explain that his size was for a 4year old -4T and Parkar's were 6-12months. I told him there was NO WAY he would ever be able to get them on. He insisted that I let him try so in the end I let him try (still thinking there was no way) and boy
was I surprised!!

Other than being a little snug and short they actually fit him - and yes mom was proved wrong! Nothing like your plan getting backfired!!
