Day 1

Parkar is doing wonderful for our first night in the hospital!! We arrived at Children's around noon yesterday. It took a while before everyone was on the same page and knew what we were doing here - and ended up being a long day. Parkar had just fell asleep around 1:45 and had been sleeping for about 10 minutes when his nurse came in and said we needed to go to the ENT clinic (which is here in the hospital on the second floor) so they suck his ear out and look at it with their microscope. We went down there and they took cultures again, sucked his ears out, and put antibiotic drops in it. Parkar was already very tired and he screamed and screamed FOREVER it seemed like. We got back to the room and finally calmed him down and he fell asleep around four and twenty minutes later they came to get him so they could start his IV - and that was awful!! He is on two different antibiotics that infuse over an hour and they do it every 8 hours. We are waiting on the cultures to see what they grow out this time and it will take 48 to 72 hours before we get the results. Once those come back the doctors say they will have a better idea on how to treat this. Cameron feels like they still have no idea of what is causing his recurrent infections but who knows. Hopefully once they find out what bacteria is growing they can come up with a plan for the future and we will know more. This hospital is great - they have a big play room two doors down from ours, they have a huge library for the kids, tons of activities to do, and lots to keep us busy while we wait!! Well that's all we know for now - keep thinking of Parkar and thanks for everything!!
