Wednesday Teylor had his first day of preschool. He did wonderful and is so excited to be able to go to school again - hopefully that feeling lasts into elementary school too!!

Parkar did fine dropping Teylor off at school but as soon we got home he went to his room and then to Teylor's room and came back to the kitchen and said "mommy where brober?" He didn't know what to think. He loves to read books - he carries one around with him most of the day - or he likes to carry one of Teylor's "school" books and a pen and say "I write", "I color". This picture is what he does daily in his room- he dumps his books out, puts them back on the shelf, carries them around, and then dumps them back out - ALL DAY!!
Then that afternoon (Wednesday) we drove to Denver. Parkar had a post-op appointment and we had the memorial service for the baby also. Parkar's appointment went well - Dr. Allen said his ears looked perfect but wanted to keep a "Very close eye on him this winter" and he said we were still not out of the woods yet as it has only been two weeks since he's been off the medicine - we are still crossing our fingers. Cameron thinks he is "cured" - Parkar's language has almost doubled in the last month, words that he would say before you can now understand clearly, he can say short sentences, and say a handful of new words - which is a huge step. They also did a hearing test on him when we were there - he didn't pass the sound room test on the right ear (the ear with all the problems) he couldn't hear quite to medium noise sounds until they were pretty loud. They then did another hearing test on him which tells if he has hearing in that ear and he passed that so they are thinking he may just have a hard time hearing quite things but they think that will be resolved soon. He wants us to come back in December to check him out again - so hopefully that is the end of his ear problems!!
Parkar waiting "patiently" for the doctor!
That same day (Thursday) we had a memorial service for our baby. It was obviously hard but it was a good service. Berkley is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Colorado - it will always be a special place that we can visit.
On Friday we decided to Georgetown Colorado and ride the "Georgetown Loop Train". We thought it would be beautiful to ride a train through the mountains as the leaves were changing color and thought it would be something fun for the boys to do. It was a lot of fun and the boys loved it - and it was gorgeous!
My HANDSOME boys!
Getting our tickets punched "just like on the Polar Express"

Checking out the view
The lower track with the river that runs beside
the tracks!

The bridge we went over - Teylor thought this
was really neat.

The rest of the time we spent spending time with Cam's brother Ryan and his family. We went to dinner and lunch several times (which is always fun!), we went to watch their son's football game on Saturday, we went to the temple and shopped around down in Highlands Ranch Friday afternoon for a while, and watched all the kids play the Wii!! Kendra and Teylor would "Rock" out to Rock Band and that was funny to watch and listen to them sing!! We had a great time spending time with them and always have a lot of fun with them. We spent a lot of time talking
and doing little things - it was great!!

Looks like you guys did a lot while you were in Denver. It is always nice to spend a lot of time with family again, especially after everything you guys have gone through.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you guys will have a place to go back to have a special place to visit your precious Berkley.
What great news from Parkar's doctor!! I hope he only continues to get better and better!! Just so you know, he is talking WAY more then Dylan and Dylan is older then him! So way to go Parkar! Sounds like he is just super excited for people to finally be able to understand him...he will be talking your leg off in no time!
I LOVE your family picture at the end, beautiful!
